About the AC
Chloe grew up in Grandville, Michigan, a suburb of Grand Rapids and attended Calvin University for her undergrad. She earned her B.A. from Calvin in 2025 in English and Marketing Management. When she was a student at Calvin, she was heavily involved with dorm life, intramurals, orientation, and the Festival of Faith and Writing, as well as working as a tour guide for the admissions office. Some of her favorite things about Calvin are the professors and the way they care so deeply for students as a whole, as well as how easy it is to get involved and gain relevant experience for professional life. Outside of work, Chloe enjoys playing pickleball, going on long walks around Reeds Lake, trying a new coffee shop in Grand Rapids, and crafting.
Favorite Campus Gem
The Hoogenboom Gym - Not really a hidden gem, but it is the spot to be if you are into sports and running into lots of people. It's always packed on a weekday night, making it a social spot to do some homework!
Pro-Tip
One tip I would offer to prospective students is to talk to various professors to explore what opportunities are out there. As admissions counselors, we can connect you with professors who can share a depth of information about their academic departments. If you are unsure on what to major in, at Calvin, it is okay to be undecided and take some time to figure out the route you want to take academically. Meeting with a professor from an area of interest (even if you are not fully decided on that major yet and it's just an option) can be so beneficial for navigating that decision. It's how I ended up an English major!
