Bio 

Steve was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Michigan during his high school years. Steve is a proud graduate of Calvin University (then Calvin College) where he earned a BA in Communication Arts & Sciences, followed by an MA in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. Steve has spent the majority of his career working in higher education and has held positions in enrollment, athletics, student life, and campus ministry. Steve is married and has three children, and his oldest is beginning his freshman year at Calvin in the fall of 2023! Steve also chairs the local Young Life parent committee and is a founding member and current VP of the athletic boosters at The Potter’s House High School in Wyoming. The Dyer family attends and serves at Oakdale Park Church in Grand Rapids.

Once you decide on your top 5-10 college options (based on academic programs offered, sports, affordability, spiritual focus, etc.), GO VISIT EACH SCHOOL ON YOUR LIST, and stay overnight if you can. That is really the only way that you can see and experience the life, culture and potential fit for you (and your family)!

It’s got to be the Spoelhof Fieldhouse complex! All students, faculty & staff have access to use just about every part of the fieldhouse complex. Pick-up basketball, tennis, yoga, swimming, weights, and so much more are available to you! Plus, our NCAA D3 atmosphere for home games/meets/matches is unrivalled...GO KNIGHTS!
