Your Individual Visit to Calvin University will qualify you for the $2000 Visit Grant when visiting between September 1 of your high school junior year through May 1 of your senior year if you attend Calvin starting in the 2025–26 or 2026–27 academic year. To make the most of your experience and time on campus, we recommend the following:
An office visit with an admissions counselor to learn more about the enrollment process and an introduction to academics and student life at Calvin
A campus tour with a Student University Guide highlighting Calvin's rich history, liberal arts education, spiritual life, and athletics
A professor meeting or attending a university class/lab of your interest
Engage in student life by attending a campus event, dining on campus, or cheering on the Knights at an athletic contest

Admissions Meeting: During your conversation with an Admissions Counselor, you will gain insight into the enrollment process and hear more about our history, traditions, academics, and campus environment.
Campus Tour: A student University Guide will take you on a 1-hour walking tour highlighting the incredible academic and student life spaces on campus.
Financial Aid: Meet with a Financial Aid officer to learn about federal and university aid programs including grant and scholarship opportunities. Be sure to ask about our Named Scholarship program.
Chapel: Attend a 20-minute worship service Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:30 a.m. with students, staff, and faculty.
Professor Appointment: Connect with faculty from an academic program of your interest to discuss the curriculum, discover extended learning opportunities like internships, clinicals, or field research, and perhaps tour instructional areas.
Program Director Appointment: Connect with faculty from your advanced degree program to discuss the curriculum, discover extended learning outcomes and perhaps tour instructional areas. (Contingent upon availability)
Class Visit: If you are visiting before 2 p.m., sit in on a Calvin University class to engage with fellow students, connect with a professor, and gain insight into the college-level learning environment.
Lunch: Extend your time on campus and join our students for lunch, hosted daily 11a.m.–2 p.m. in Commons Dining Hall. Included in your visit materials will be a brief explanation of our menu offerings.
Academic Counseling: Connect with the Center for Student Success to learn how we provide academic support, including tutoring, to students during their time at Calvin University.
Calvin First: First Generation Resources and Support Calvin First provides a series of networking, professional development, and social programs for first-generation (neither of your parents have completed a 4-year degree program) college students. Meet with a Student Success Specialist committed to first-gen student support to hear more about Calvin First events on campus.
Center for Counseling and Wellness: Meet with the Center for Counseling and Wellness to ask questions about mental health support available to Calvin students. An overview of the Stepped Care Model used by the center, as well as collaborative mental wellness resources available to students will be provided.
Center for Intercultural Student Development (CISD): The Center for Intercultural Student Development inspires, challenges, and equips all Calvin students through specific multicultural programming and student leadership development. Cohorts: Meet with a representative for an introduction to the three different cohorts. As a member of a Calvin Cohort, you will have community among students who share common passions, participate in related activities, and take some classes together.
Dining Services: Meet with Dining Services to discuss specific, individual dietary restrictions and available meal plan accommodations.
Disability Services: Meet with a representative from Disability Services to learn how we support students. We can discuss your current academic needs and what accommodations look like as a Calvin University student.
Entrada Scholars: The Entrada Scholars Program is a dynamic summer college immersion experience for high school junior and senior BIPOC students and those who have had significant cross cultural experiences. Meet with the Entrada program team to learn more about this incredible opportunity to experience college life, build meaningful connections, and become eligible for a scholarship to Calvin University.
Honors Program: Honors at Calvin nurtures outstanding students through programs that challenge them to ask difficult questions with humility, explore with wonder and pursue advanced academic opportunities with courage. Meet with a member of the program to learn about qualifications and expectations.
Study Abroad: Curious about studying abroad? Learn how global experiences can fit your major, boost your résumé, and broaden your world. Programs of all lengths—start planning early to make it happen.
TRIO: TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program to increase academic success and graduation rates for first-generation college students, low-income students, and/or students with disabilities. Meet with TRIO staff to learn about how you can join the Calvin TRIO SSS community and feel a strong sense of belonging here from day one through graduation.
